Sometimes the best parts of life aren’t part of the plan.

When I first started this little business, I imagined candles being just a seasonal side project — something cozy and creative to keep my hands busy. I never expected a single taper candle to travel across the country, land on a boutique shelf, or become part of someone’s wedding centerpiece. But here we are.

This spring, one of my designs — a soft blue chinoiserie floral taper — quietly became a best seller. I didn’t launch it with a big announcement or even expect much fanfare. But it found its way into carts and hearts, and suddenly, I was packing up dozens of them for customers I’ll likely never meet, but still feel connected to.

And that’s the magic, isn’t it?

Behind every order is a story. A bride dreaming up her tablescape. A daughter gifting her mother something meaningful. A boutique owner in a small town choosing just the right display to catch a passerby’s eye.

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how things have unfolded. Not in a straight line, not without doubts, but with surprising grace. Every twist — a shift in product focus, a packaging upgrade, or even pressing pause on candles during Arizona summers — has nudged me toward something better.

So if you’re in a season of waiting, wondering, or pivoting — hang in there. The things meant for you have a funny way of showing up when you least expect them.
